Tuners have created an off-road Ferrari supercar with ground clearance like a Land Cruiser (4 photos)
American tuning house GlasWerks DMV unveiled an unusual customization project for a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso coupe at the SEMA show. Designed for off-road use, the custom car, dubbed "Elevato," boasts ground clearance that exceeds the factory Purosangue crossover's 180 millimeters (7.5 inches) and matches the Toyota Land Cruiser 300's 230 millimeters (9.5 inches). The studio plans to build these cars to order, estimating a starting price of $175,000, excluding the cost of the donor car.
Thanks to the tuners, the coupe receives a completely new suspension with reinforced control arms, stabilizers, half-shafts, and steering rods. Adjustable MCS shock absorbers and Eibach springs are used. The powertrain has also been modified. The output of the 6.3-liter V12 is increased from the standard 680 to 758 horsepower, but the tuning studio does not specify how.
Among the Elevato's external features are a new radiator grille and alternative lighting systems with 30% improved performance. The crossover also features additional lighting, an expedition rack, towing eyes, and skid plates. The car will also be equipped with a tire inflation system.
The studio stated that they plan to produce cars that will be regularly used for their intended purpose, rather than collector's cars.
