I was serving dessert to Daniel Radcliffe at an event, tripped, and accidentally spilled part of it on him (mostly because I realized I was serving Daniel Radcliffe). He immediately stood up and started profusely apologizing to *me*. He was so sweet and kept asking if I was okay.





Will Smith

A couple of years ago, I worked a private event for him. He thanked every single staff member when he arrived and before he left. He had wonderful manners, was in high spirits, and spent time joking around with the staff. Great guy.

I met Obama a few times. He has incredible charisma and makes a real effort to talk to everyone. He actually remembered me the third time we met, which was amazing. What a genuinely wonderful person.



Robin Williams

My mom spotted Robin Williams once, walked up to him, and asked for a quick picture. She didn't realize he was doing something with the Make-A-Wish Foundation at the time, so she stepped aside to wait. When they finished 20–30 minutes later, a huge crowd of kids and adults wanted pictures with him too. He specifically stayed behind and told his assistants:

"I think that lady wanted a photo," and made sure she got one too.

My mom was over the moon. He was such a sweet, humble guy.



Jeff Goldblum

I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that Jeff Goldblum is a lovely human being, and I can confirm it firsthand. I worked as an extra on a movie with him. When he arrived on set, some rude crew member yelled at us not to bother him or ask for autographs (which none of us were doing anyway). When I was eleven, I met Jim Carrey at a party my parents were invited to. He was acting totally normal, but when he noticed me staring, he pulled his iconic "The Mask" face and stared right back at me. He's a genuinely hilarious guy with a heart of gold.

My dad met Lady Gaga at a restaurant in NYC and said she was the sweetest person he'd ever met in his life. He called her "charming," and became a huge fan right then and there.

Nathan Fillion

I met Nathan Fillion while working at a movie theater. He bought six large popcorns and a bunch of Smartwater, and I thought, "Man, this guy is loaded." He was wearing a hoodie and glasses, so I didn't recognize him at first. At one point, I said:

"Hey, you kind of look like Nathan Fillion."

He took off his glasses and said:

"I should hope so."

I immediately stood at attention and said:

"Captain."

And he replied:

"At ease, Browncoat."

Coolest moment ever.



Gordon Ramsay

A lot of people say Gordon Ramsay is sweet, and my godsister can vouch for that. She worked at a hotel restaurant in Cornwall where Ramsay regularly stays. She was so nervous that she spilled something by accident, but he just gave her a warm, fatherly smile and said:

"It's alright, sweetheart," before turning back to his conversation.



Paul Rudd

I sat next to Paul Rudd on a flight out of New York. My buddy told me he wanted to compliment the band t-shirt Paul wore in *Clueless*, but didn't want to be weird about it—so he decided to write him a note, lol. He passed it over, and Paul looked visibly nervous as he unfolded it and started reading. Then he burst out laughing, leaned over to us, and said:

"This is the best note ever."

He then told us the whole story behind the shirt and how he had to fight with wardrobe because it was actually his own shirt that he wore to set that day. We talked the entire flight—he was an absolute legend.



Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin, hands down. I've met various musicians and athletes who turned out to be nice, but none of them were as genuinely lovely as Steve. I ran into him in a hotel elevator, dripping wet right after coming from the pool.

I was 11, absolutely starstruck to be sharing an elevator with Steve Irwin. He struck up a conversation right away, asked my name, where I was from, whether there were any crocs in the pool with me, and asked me to come get him if I spotted any. Then he started chatting with a hotel staff member who had been staring at him the whole time. To this day, just thinking about that conversation makes me ridiculously happy.



Hugh Jackman

My friend went to the premiere of *X-Men Origins: Wolverine*, and people were camping out overnight in front of the theater. When he woke up, he was told Hugh Jackman had bought everyone breakfast—I think it was a sandwich and orange juice. My friend mentioned there were at least 100 people there.

This isn't my story, but my dad's. He interviewed Mr. Rogers once, and he was as lovely as you'd expect. But the absolute highlight was when Mr. Rogers told my dad that he was proud of him. Such a wonderful man.

I worked at Disneyland in the late '90s, and one day I saw Tom Hanks giving a tour to a group of about 25 kids. He was guiding the tour himself while the Disney tour guide just tagged along, so it was pretty clear he'd done it many times before.

I met—and ended up hanging out for about an hour with—Kiefer Sutherland. Meeting him was a crazy coincidence because my wife and I were planning to go to his concert that Saturday night (the ticket was free, but we had to wait in line for it). My son was working as a bartender, and when I stopped by to visit him, he said:

"Dad, I want to introduce you to someone."

When I saw who it was, the first thing out of my mouth was:

"Oh my god, we loved you in *The Lost Boys* and *24*, and you won't believe this, but my wife and I are going to your band's show on Saturday!"

And he was completely BLOWN AWAY!!! He went:

"Most people have no idea I even play music... I can't believe you guys are going! That is so cool!.."

So I called my wife, and she came down to the bar to meet him. Long story short, he set us up with amazing seats. Then, during the show, he asked my wife and me to stand up... and dedicated a love song to us. What a great guy!!!



Robert Downey Jr.

We were on the same flight... He is ridiculously personable and witty. I didn't even recognize him at first.



"Weird Al" Yankovic

I work in the film industry. Weird Al is insanely, fucking sweet. So sweet that if you ask for a picture, he'll record a 10-second video message for your dad instead.

My mom and sister met The Rock back when he was just a wrestler. They had car seats and a ton of luggage, making it super tough to deplane. This huge guy offered to help, which they happily accepted, and he grabbed a few bags plus my niece's baby carrier, helped them off the plane, and walked away. People immediately started asking how they knew The Rock, and they had no idea what anyone was talking about until someone explained who he was.



Anne Hathaway

We were chatting backstage while waiting for her cue. She was telling me how clumsy she is, and we were laughing about it. Then, when she got called up, she tripped walking up the stairs and fell flat on her face, looked back at me, and we both burst out laughing. She is an absolute sweetheart and a genuinely lovely person. I'm so glad I got to meet her.



Leonard Nimoy

I met Leonard Nimoy a few times. He was insanely cool. He was speaking at my workplace, and since we all knew he was coming, we snagged a table near the entrance to watch for his arrival. Security escorted him from his car into the building, and we said hello as he passed by. They brought him to the green room so he could relax before going on stage.

To our surprise, a short while later he walked back outside, pulled up a seat next to us, and we just hung out, talking about food and local spots to visit. We were just shooting the breeze like he was one of us. What an awesome guy. Hands down one of the coolest celebrity encounters of my life.



Tom Felton

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy from *Harry Potter*) was so sweet. I met him at Comic-Con once and he told me I had a beautiful smile ????



Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton is, without a doubt, one of the most polite, friendly, and welcoming people I've ever met. I was working backstage at one of her shows, tasked with setting up the buffet for VIP guests while keeping a low profile. She walked into the room and greeted everyone as if they were family. Then she noticed me and my coworker and said:

"Come on over here. We're all family!"

She treated every single person in that room as an equal.



Stan Lee

I also met Stan Lee twice (at Comic-Con two years in a row). The first time, I got a picture with him, but was instructed not to touch or talk to him. When I walked up (I was probably 15 at the time), he smiled warmly and greeted me. The second time, he signed that same photo for me and was incredibly kind to both me and my dad. It was amazing to meet a true legend like him (RIP, Stan).
