An orchestra plays a prank on their conductor during his anniversary year

Karl Jenkins was about to conduct his "Palladio", but after the first few bars, the musicians switched to "Happy Birthday". The surprise was prepared for his 80th birthday at the Classic FM Live concert at London's Albert Hall in 2024.

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra and its chorus played, and the arrangement of the musical greeting was written by conductor Ben Palmer. After the musical gift, two cakes were also brought out onto the stage.
