Brabus put an armored Mercedes-Benz G 500 "time capsule" up for sale (11 photos)
Brabus has put its own SUV, the Invicto Mission VR6, up for sale. It's part of a line of armored vehicles built by Brabus based on the G-Class. The car, capable of withstanding automatic weapons fire and grenade explosions, was assembled in 2020 on a car produced the previous year and has traveled only 866 kilometers. The manufacturer has priced the "capsule" at €712,800.
The modified Geländewagen's occupants are protected by steel and composite armor plates, bulletproof glass, and puncture-resistant tires. A distinctive feature of the Mission at the time of its production was its wide range of additional equipment. These included night vision, fire extinguishing, and oxygen systems, an escape hatch, touchscreen control panels for auxiliary functions, and more.
Furthermore, the SUV is equipped with additional lighting and a winch in the front bumper, and features a chassis and brakes modified to accommodate the new weight.
The Mission version includes, among other things, a modified interior, where the standard seats are replaced with four bucket seats with multi-point belts and Cordura trim. These SUVs were originally intended as escort vehicles.
The Invicto Mission is powered by an eight-cylinder gasoline engine producing 421 hp, meaning the powertrain has not undergone any modifications. A standard Geländewagen with this engine will accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
