What we actually see is not what we see: 17 images where everything is not as it seems (17 photos)
I'm talking about optical illusions, which are plentiful all around us and which our brains and eyes are happy to deceive. Don't believe me?
Disappearing Beyond the Horizon
A stunning example of how the right angle in a photo can create an optical illusion. You'll have to spend some time looking at this image to understand how everything works.
Moving Images
If you look at this image as a whole, it seems like everything is moving. But as soon as you stop your gaze on any particular element, the movement immediately stops.
And one more thing. If this image doesn't move for you, try scrolling up and down the page; it will immediately come to life.
Reversals
Does everyone see people's faces in both pictures? If not, take a closer look.
What do you think of this reversal? I think it's simply wonderful.
Rabbit Hole
Would you like a rug like this for your home? Well, at least to scare friends.
Paintings by Oleg Shuplyak
A stunning example of optical illusion and surrealism. Just look at Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea."
How do you like the Venetian Carnival?
Shadows
There are many examples of such optical illusion photos. This is just one. If you think the animals are black, you're mistaken. Look closely at the photo and you'll see beneath the black shadows (and that's exactly what they are) the ones they belong to – zebras.
Family Photo Shoot
If you're looking for a photo shoot idea, how about this one? It certainly looks magical.
What's in what?
Question: In the image below, is the orange cube inside the blue one or in front of it?
Don't spend too much time guessing. There's no right answer here. Everyone sees what's most comfortable for their brain. For example, I think it's inside.
Full-Head Tattoo
What to do when all your hair has fallen out? There are many options, for example, this one... And this isn't Photoshopped or AI—it's a real 3D tattoo. Would you get one like this?
3D Drawings
How about this staircase? It looks like a 3D paper craft, but it's actually a regular, flat pencil drawing.
The author is certainly a master, don't you agree? Here are a couple more examples.
Or vice versa.
The Illusion of Negativity
To get the magic going here, you'll have to "sweat" a little ????. Look at this negative image for 30 seconds, then move your gaze to a white wall or other surface.
Did you see the girl's face in its normal form?
Let's make it as difficult as possible.
Try reading the text in the image below.
I'm sure you did it. Now take a closer look at the words (if you didn't notice anything unusual before).
Consider this our superpower.
When a child is just learning to read, they see each letter separately and won't be able to read the text above (or rather, they can read it, but they won't understand it). Adults, however, don't read the word "whole"; we simply look for familiar words in the text, and then our clever brains "fill in the blanks." That's how smart we are!
