They want to sell a broken McLaren Senna for more than a new one (14 photos)
The McLaren Senna supercar has been put up for auction at the American Copart wreck auction. They expect to get $1.625 million for the coupe with significant damage, but so far only $432,000 has been offered for the lot. At the time of its premiere at the end of 2017, prices for the road-track model started at 750,000 British pounds - about $1 million at the then exchange rate (now - $922,500).
Judging by the published photos, the Senna has a broken front bumper and is completely missing the right front wing and headlight. At the same time, the rest of the carbon fiber body with silver and red accents looks good - as does the two-tone interior. The digital dashboard displays a mileage of 4,343 miles (slightly less than 7 thousand kilometers). For comparison, the year before last, another wrecked McLaren Senna was put up for auction at the same auction, which was in much worse condition, but was nevertheless valued at 1.3-1.4 million dollars.
Judging by the description of the lot, the four-liter V8 was not damaged. According to the passport, this engine produces 800 hp and 800 Nm, allows you to reach a hundred in 2.8 seconds and accelerate to a maximum of 325 km/ h.
The value of the McLaren Senna is explained, among other things, by its circulation, which is limited to 500 copies. All of them were sold out by pre-orders even before the public premiere.
