A Panamanian discovered a live meteorite with tentacles (4 photos + 3 videos)
On August 29, a Panamanian resident found a small space rock in a fiery crater. A man calling himself "Kin" posted on social media how a tentacled organism emerges from the meteorite and burns leaves upon contact.
A week after the initial post, the man reported that the crater "glows at night." In subsequent images, oily growths resembling tentacles rapidly emerge from cracks in the rock and quickly consume it.
The video has exploded on social media. Some see it as a "growing alien," while others see it as a hoax.
"It actually looks more like a potato," one user asserts. "That metallic sheen smells like paint, and the fact that the camera turned off before capturing the object raises suspicions. By the way, iron meteorites are incapable of photosynthesis. It's a potato."
Others noted that Keane was able to pick up the meteorite with his bare hands, but the object burned through tree leaves in the process.

Although the video received millions of views, the meteorite was never handed over to experts.
The Panamanian says he emailed samples of the tentacles to friends, but the analysis results have not been made public. He also touched the appendages with his bare hands, which could have contaminated the material.
Keen said he heard an interesting theory about the origin of the mysterious object: not a meteorite, but an Anthurus archeri mushroom, also known as "Devil's Fingers." However, his find differs from this mushroom, which has a star-shaped form reminiscent of a red flower.

The man continues to share news: "I was scared today. I thought it had escaped."
Later, he said the object continues to grow when exposed to light.
"I feel calmer at night. I know it won't grow. Every time I show it to others and shine a light on it, it gets bigger, and I feel unsafe," Keane reported on September 14.
The man is forced to keep the "alien" in a safe.
Social media users warned Keane that authorities might try to confiscate the mysterious specimen. He appealed to his followers: "Save the videos. This is our evidence. They'll probably be deleted soon."
Researcher John Greenwald Jr. noted that if the creature had originated from a meteorite, it would be evidence of panspermia. Panspermia is the hypothesis that living organisms or their embryos can be transported through space.
