Ferrari F355 from the 1990s turned into a carbon restomod (10 photos)
Ferrari produced more than 11 thousand F355 sports cars in the second half of the 1990s. And only 55 of them will get the chance to become a restomod from Evoluto Automobili. The company offers deep processing of a sports car, which affects all components - from the body to the power unit. The price of the restomod is not specified.
With the help of ex-Jaguar designer Ian Cullam, a new body was developed for the sports car. The coupe's appearance has been modernized only slightly, but the body panels have been completely replaced with carbon fiber alternatives. Increased aerodynamic efficiency is also promised. The modernized interior is offered to be finished with carbon fiber, leather and other materials of the customer's choice.
The developers are strengthening the restomod chassis, including through new carbon struts: according to Evoluto calculations, the torsional rigidity of the body increases by 23%. Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers and new 19-inch wheels are used.
The restomod retains the stock 3.5-liter V8 from the F355, but the engine is heavily rebuilt. The company reports more than 200 new components, including a different valve train, an upgraded ignition, alternate shafts and the like. The declared output is 420 hp, which is 40 more power than the standard Ferrari F355, the engine operates with a six-speed manual transmission. The dynamic characteristics of the restomod are not mentioned, but the usual supercar from Maranello took 4.7 seconds to accelerate to hundreds with a top speed of 295 km/h.
