A representative from the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026. To save you the suspense: yes, she is a biological woman. 
Unlike Miss Universe—another major pageant that officially allowed transgender women to compete back in 2012—the Miss World committee strictly maintains its traditional rules.
Under the pageant's regulations, all contestants must meet three strict criteria that have remained unchanged for decades:
Be a naturally born female (biological sex at birth).
Never have been legally married.
Have no children.
At the grand final hosted in the Vietnamese resort city of Nha Trang, the coveted crown was awarded to 24-year-old Jhoheirry Mola. It marks a historic triumph for her country, which hasn't seen a Miss World victory in 44 long years, since 1982.
The evening's main suspense culminated in the top-three announcement. Spain's Elisabeth Reines claimed second place and the title of first runner-up.
Third place went to Malaysian beauty Thaanusha Chetty.
The competition was fierce this year, with 112 contestants from around the world competing for the global crown. The newly crowned winner holds a degree in business administration, but works as a high school literature teacher.
