Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm of the 1970s was revived for 1.1 million euros (6 photos)
At the Geneva Motor Show, Italian body shop Totem Automobili presented its new project - a vintage coupe called Giulia GTAm. It is a modern interpretation of the Alfa Romeo model of the same name from the early 1970s. The sports car has a vintage appearance, but is built almost entirely from carbon fiber and is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds. Price - from 1.1 million euros.
The Giulia GTAm was a development of the previous Totem Automobili project - the GT Super coupe, but the new product received many technical differences. A hint of them is encrypted in the name: the developers decipher the abbreviation Am as alleggerita modificata, that is, “lightweight and modified.”
The new coupe is based on a carbon fiber monocoque with double-wishbone suspension and carbon body panels, while aluminum was extensively used on the GT Super. As a result, the GTAm weighs about 200 kilograms less. In addition, the sports car was equipped with a larger and more powerful engine - a specially prepared 3.2-liter V6 with a dry sump from Italtecnica Engineering, developing 810 hp. and 730 Nm.
The engine is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox, limited-slip differential and rear-wheel drive. According to the developers' calculations, the maximum speed of the sports car should exceed 300 km/h.
Other differences include an advanced body kit that adds about 200 millimeters to the width of the car, exclusive 19-inch wheels and an unusual body design scheme that combines exposed carbon fiber and blue accents. There are no images of the interior yet, but the coupe’s interior is promised to be equipped with seats on a carbon frame trimmed with expensive leather.
In total, Totem Automobili plans to produce only five of these cars.
