The KAMManufactur studio from Budapest presented a new modification of its restomod based on the Porsche 912. It features a completely carbon fiber body, thanks to which the sports car becomes ultra-light - the coupe weighs only 699 kilograms. In addition, a new engine is already being prepared for the restomod. The cost of a carbon sports car is from 400 thousand euros.
The Hungarians presented the first version of the restomod based on a little-known Porsche model from the second half of the 1960s in May. Its design already involves replacing some of the body parts with carbon analogues, but the tuners are keeping the roof and rear side panels steel. This 912 weighs 750 kilograms, while the weight of the original sports car is more than a ton.
With the new body, the restomod gets improved aerodynamics. Carbon panels can be left unpainted or coated in any color of the customer's choice. In addition, an upgraded air conditioner, a more technologically advanced media system and new seat options have been prepared for this modification.
KAMM equips the sports car with a two-liter “four” with output up to 190 hp. and 228 Nm. However, it plans to introduce a more powerful air-cooled version of the engine in 2024.
The base cost of the first version of the turnkey restomod is 360 thousand euros; a fully carbon modification will cost 40 thousand more. At the same time, the company has already announced that there are only a few slots left to order a car for 2024.
