Ferrari 296 GT3 toy model was praised as a real car (7 photos + 1 video)
Known for its detailed scale replicas, Amalgam has unveiled a new Ferrari model. This is a racing 296 GT3, made in 1:8 scale. Only 199 of these models will be assembled at a price of $18,090. For similar money in the USA you can buy, for example, a full-fledged “adult” Nissan Versa.
The labor intensity is explained by the high degree of detail of the toy car. For example, it has a full aerodynamic tail with canards and a wing, an authentic livery, Pirelli P Zero tires and an interior that exactly replicates the interior of a Ferrar sports car, including protective nets and a steering wheel. However, on this model Amalgam abandoned the lifting lid of the engine compartment: it will not be possible to see a copy of the power unit.
The length of the new model is 560 millimeters. It is said to have been designed using drawings from a real Ferrari 296 GT3 and took approximately 3,000 hours to develop. Each copy takes another 300 hours to make.
The body of the model is painted in real Ferrari colors, but the buyer can order the design of the sports car to his liking.
In the summer, Amalgam showed another copy of the sports car, which will be released in the same edition, but from a different era. The downsized Aston Martin DB5 is asking for a minimum of $21,995.
