Restmod Mustang Shelby G500CR valued at $625,000 (7 photos)
Atelier Classic Recreations, specializing in expensive restomods, shared some details of the Shelby G500CR Centennial project - a vintage supercar dedicated to the past 100th anniversary of Carroll Shelby. Only 10 coupes with a carbon body and an 800-horsepower engine will be assembled, each of which will be sold at a price of 625 thousand dollars.
Classic Recreations' restomod features Ford's modern 5.0-liter Coyote V8, complete with a Magnuson supercharger. The engine is paired with a six-speed Tremec manual transmission. The coupe can accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds.
Enviable dynamics are provided not only by the engine characteristics, but also by the weight of the sports car. Thanks to its carbon fiber body, it weighs 1,450 kilograms. The restomod turns thanks to a fully independent suspension with adjustable coilovers, and stops with Wilwood brakes with six-piston calipers.
The GT500CR Centennial features a special paint scheme with multi-color longitudinal stripes. The studio notes that two months will be spent on the body design and interior finishing of each restomod.
The limited edition coupe is dedicated not only to the famous engineer’s birthday, but also to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the American Heart Association. The studio promises to donate 100 thousand dollars from each car sold to this organization.
