The creator of the McLaren F1 showed his new development - T.33 (23 photos)
Gordon Murray Automotive introduced a new version supercar T.33. He received an open body and retained the aspirated V12. As in the case of the coupe, the circulation will be limited to a hundred copies.
The working volume of the rear engine is 3.9 liters. He spins up to 11,100 rpm. Power reaches 617 horsepower. At closed version of T.33, the setting is slightly different: 615 forces and 10,500 rpm.
The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The model was originally designed for two body types. That's why the open version turned out to be only 18 kilograms heavier than the coupe. Thanks to the carbon fiber body, the curb weight of the car is only 1108 kilograms.
The suspension scheme is the same for all wheels - on double transverse levers. Shock absorbers are conventional, not adaptive. rear suspension, as on racing cars, is attached directly to mechanical transmission. The roadster has 6-piston front and 4-piston rear brake calipers and carbon ceramic brakes discs (front with a diameter of 370 mm, rear - 340 mm).
Rigid removable roof panels easily fit in the trunk. Behind doors in the sidewalls of the body made two more cargo compartments, in which travel bags fit easily. Their lids open against the move movement. In total, three trunks provide 295 liters of volume.
The cockpit is made in the spirit of severe minimalism. It doesn't even have media systems, an indispensable attribute of any modern machine. Driver and the passenger is invited to enjoy the whistle of the wind and the sound of the V12. To better hear the engine, you can lower the rear window, equipped with electric drive.
Each T.33 Spider will cost at least 1.89 million pounds. Production will start at the end of the year. Probably by the time the beginning of the entire circulation will be sold out, as it already happened with the closed model version.
