Lamborghini paves the way for off-road supercars with Sterrato, raised, beefy Huracan. Now double cars mid-engine can be fun on the pavement, as well as on the ground.
Lamborghini has completely declassified the cross version Sterrato Huracan supercar. The novelty will not go to everyone, circulation will be 1499 copies. Sterrato (the name is translated from Italian as "dirt road") - the latest factory modification mid-engine supercar Huracan, which has been produced since 2014 and is currently the youngest model in the Lamborghini range.
The Huracan will make way for a plug-in hybrid successor in 2024, but so far - the last tour of the naturally aspirated V10 in a very unusual role. Sterrato is Lamborghini's answer to the 911 Dakar cross-coupe from Porsche, but if the Porsche 911 Dakar has a clear historical context, the Huracan Sterrato is pure improvisation.
In the form of a concept, the Huracan Sterrato was shown back in 2019, the production version differs from it in just a few details: no LED "chandelier" on the roof (but the roof rails were preserved) and added upper air intake for the engine so that less dirt and dust. A plump plastic body kit around the perimeter not only protects body, but also visually compensates for the extended track (front +30 mm, rear +34 mm). Ground clearance is increased by 44 mm, but its final Lamborghini does not indicate the value. Bumpers on the Sterrato version completely unique, with imitation of stiffening ribs in the lower part. Besides, thresholds are reinforced, aluminum protection is installed in front under the bottom.
The Alcantara-upholstered interior is lavishly adorned with Sterrato lettering, the visor instrumentation and multimedia system received updated graphics: in in particular added off-road virtual instruments showing angles roll, rudder angle, GPS coordinates and compass. For interior decoration 60 different colors are offered, and body colors - as many as 350 to choose from.
The 5.2-liter V10 of the Sterrato is not the most powerful in the range, it gives out maximum 610 hp at 8000 rpm and 565 Nm at 6500 rpm. Box gears - 7-speed "automatic" type DCT (with two clutches), drive - complete with Haldex clutch, taking power to the front axle, rear the differential is supplemented with a mechanical lock. Up to 100 km/h Huracan Sterrato accelerates in 3.4 s, up to 200 km / h in 9.8 s, maximum speed is limited to 260 km/h due to tires.
Tires - all-terrain Bridgestone Dueler A / T 002 type Run Flat dimensions 235/40 R19 front and 285/40 R19 rear. Brakes - carbon-ceramic, front disc diameter - 380 mm (6-piston calipers), rear - 356 mm (4-piston calipers). Suspension - spring, on double transverse levers "in a circle" with adaptive shock absorbers MagneRide. Of course suspension and power unit reconfigured with an eye on driving on bad roads and light off-road, the Rally mode has appeared in the driving menu for high-speed assault on loose and slippery special stages. Dry weight Huracan Sterrato - 1470 kg, fuel tank volume - 80 l, trunk volume - only 100 l.
The price of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato has not yet been announced, the production of the cross-coupe will begin in February 2023.
