28-year-old artist Joseph Awuah-Darko decided to undergo euthanasia due to severe bipolar disorder. Before the procedure, he launched a project that allows anyone to invite him to a “last supper”. In a few months, he has already visited more than 150 families around the world.
Some see this as an attempt to find meaning and warmth before the end, others - a romanticization of suicide. There are also suspicions of fraud due to past legal disputes and conflicts with other artists.
He has not yet moved on to the euthanasia procedure. Doctors in the Netherlands doubt that he will be approved for the procedure, especially due to his current active and fulfilling life. He himself says that the project has no fixed “end date”.
