A dog lay near the grave of its owner for two years: a miracle recently happened to him (4 photos)
Local villagers regularly fed the pet, whose leg was crippled, and even wanted to take it for themselves, but the dog kept returning to the woman's grave on the hill.
A faithful dog, who lay at the grave of his owner for two years, met a new owner who saved his life and cured him of severe chronic diseases. This touching story quickly spread across social networks.
An influencer with the nickname Ganpojiege, the owner of a shelter for stray dogs in eastern China's Jiangxi Province, posted a video of the dog being given away in early November, garnering a ton of likes and comments.
As it turns out, the unnamed dog had been visiting his owner's graves for two years after her death in 2022. Local villagers regularly fed the pet, who had a crippled leg and was diagnosed with serious skin diseases, and even wanted to take him for themselves, but he kept returning to the woman's grave on the hill, making the cemetery his home, so over time everyone came to terms with it.
When Ganpojiege reached out to touch the dog in his video, the dog did not resist and ate all the sausages the man brought. The pet was eventually taken to a rescue center. Before leaving, the blogger promised the "spirit" of the deceased owner that he would often bring the dog to visit.
The dog is now called Zhongbao, which means "Loyal Little One." He lives with other stray dogs that the organization has rescued over the past two years.
In the latest video the influencer posted online, the pet with long, sleek fur looks completely healthy. It took more than two months to treat him, and it was so difficult that he had to be transported to a clinic in Shanghai.
"I was moved to tears by Zhongbao's devotion to his owner," one participant in the discussion noted in the comments. Another added: "Dogs are truly man's best friend."
