A unique American limousine from the 60s stood in the open air for more than 20 years (3 photos + 1 video)
The 1963 Chrysler New Yorker was transformed into an original six-door limousine. Under the hood of the car there is a large 6.7-liter V8 with 340 horsepower.
An abandoned 1963 Chrysler New Yorker limousine has been discovered in the United States. The exclusive car stood for two decades in the open air in the courtyard of the house.
The limousine is a real rarity, because the Chrysler New Yorker did not have such a version - the car was created in one of the American studios from a standard sedan. It was cut and a section with a third pair of doors was added. Another row of seats was installed in the cabin, with the rear passengers sitting facing each other.
Very few Chrysler New Yorker limousines were produced. It is known that this particular car was a shuttle and ran between an expensive hotel and the airport.
The owner of the car said that the last time he drove it was in 2003. After 21 years in the open air, the Chrysler New Yorker has rusted, the paint is peeling, and the interior trim is torn in places.
The owner of the car noted that the 6.8-liter 340-horsepower V8 Chrysler Wedge started, but the engine could not be revived. The limousine traveled 640 km on a tow truck to a workshop where it will be restored.
