The construction of a unique Formula 1 race track has been announced in Saudi Arabia. The Qiddiya Speed Park track will be located in the entertainment city of Qiddiya, which is developing at an accelerated pace 45 km from the capital of the country, Riyadh.

The project was attended by ex-Formula 1 driver Alex Wurz and the famous developer of FIA first category circuits Hermann Tilke. The Qiddiya Speed Park track will have 21 turns, and the maximum speed that drivers can reach will be 325 km/h.

A unique feature of the future Saudi track is its location: not on the surface of the earth, but on the ramp of a multifunctional entertainment complex. Already the first bend soars to the level of a 20-story building - 70 m, and in general the height differences will fluctuate within 108 m. You will be able to watch the races directly from viewing terraces, hotel rooms of neighboring buildings, from a glass-bottomed swimming pool, as well as from the largest in the world of roller coasters.

It is expected that the first F1 races on the floating track will take place in 2027. Qiddiya Speed Park will replace the Jeddah Circuit as the venue for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, although the Saudis are willing to host two rounds per season.
