Oxford Dictionary names new words for 2023 (4 photos)
So, 2023 has almost come to an end. And during this time, 8 new words were officially born in the world, which are unlikely to ever be useful to us. They were published by representatives of the University of Oxford. Well, let's see what these new terms are.
"Swifty"
Noun. This is the name given to the ardent fans of the singer Taylor Swift, who has been wildly hyped this year.
"Promt"
Noun. An instruction given to an artificial intelligence or algorithm that determines the content it generates. 2023 can well be called the year of neural networks.
"Situationship"
Noun. Romantic or sexual relationships without formalities or status. It can be literally translated as “situational relationships.”
"Rizz" is the word of 2023 according to the Oxford Dictionary
Noun. Refers to the ability to attract another person through style, charm, or attractiveness. Comes from the middle part of the English word "charisma" (charisma).
“Rizz” gained particular popularity after an interview with Tom Holland, who honestly admitted that he does not have this trait at all.

• “beige flag” (noun, beige flag) - a character trait indicating that a partner or potential partner is boring or lacks originality; also a typical trait or habit of a partner that is not considered good or bad.
• “de-influencing” (noun, de-influencing) - dissuading people from buying certain products or, in general, a call to reduce the consumption of material goods, which is carried out through social networks.
• “heat dome” (noun, heat dome) is a meteorological phenomenon in the form of a dome over a certain geographical area, inside which there is high pressure that maintains stable heat.
• “parasocial” (adj., parasocial) - a one-sided, unrequited feeling of intimacy experienced by a viewer, fan or follower in relation to a famous person, in which a person feels as if he knows the star as his friend.
