Land Cruiser 200 with 1 million km on the clock goes up for sale (14 photos)
This white Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series Sahara was purchased brand new in April 2010 by Gary Driscoll, a regional grain and livestock agent from Victoria, Australia. Over the past 15 years, he logged an average of more than 180 kilometers a day across rural backroads and highways, eventually clocking a full million kilometers on the odometer.
To be exact, it is just shy of a million—about 300 meters short of the milestone, to be precise. Driscoll plans to leave that honor to the SUV's next owner, as the vehicle has just been put up for auction.
In the photos, the record-breaking SUV looks to be in great shape. According to the listing, it still runs on its factory 4.5-liter turbodiesel engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive, with the starter motor being the only component ever replaced. The service book logs roughly 100 scheduled maintenance visits, meaning it was serviced like clockwork every 10,000 kilometers.
As the first documented Land Cruiser 200 in Australia to reach 999,999 kilometers on its original powertrain, expectations are to fetch 30,000 Australian dollars. The results of the online auction will be announced later today.
