A Latvian company known for its unusual vehicles, Dartz Motorz, has unveiled a new armored vehicle based on the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. Called the Shere Khan Pullman, it is the first minivan in the brand's lineup.
The resulting car can be visually identified as an original Mercedes-Benz by looking at it in profile, but the "Sher Khan" front end is radically different, thanks to the shape of the body panels, new lighting, and the huge lion's head on the radiator grille. It is specified that this decoration can be replaced with any other at the customer's request.
The armored vehicle is certified according to STANAG 2 and BR10+ requirements. This means the vehicle is capable of protecting passengers from assault rifle and heavy machine gun fire, including those using 7.62×39mm and 7.62×51mm armor-piercing rounds. The Shere Khan Pullman can also withstand anti-tank mines with a charge equivalent to up to 6 kg of TNT. As a bonus, the vehicle is equipped with an electronic warfare system to suppress unmanned aerial vehicles and its own reconnaissance drones.
The minivan is powered by a 4.0-liter turbocharged AMG V8 engine producing 639 hp and 900 Nm.
The Shere Khan Pullman is planned to be produced strictly on a custom-made basis, and the price tag, according to the Daily Mail, is approximately €350,000.
