Bugatti dedicated its latest exclusive W16 Mistral to the dragonfly (8 photos)
This is the fourth insect-themed Bugatti in the customer's collection.
Bugatti has unveiled the W16 Mistral hypercar, which has been given the name "Fly Bug" due to its exclusive trim developed at the customer's request. The dragonfly served as a source of inspiration for both the hypercar's owner and its designers, making the Fly Bug the fourth insect-themed Bugatti hypercar in the customer's collection.
The main visual distinguishing feature of the W16 Mistral Fly Bug will be its bodywork. The predominant color is an iridescent blue, nicknamed Dragonfly Blue, which changes appearance depending on the viewing angle and sunlight, and is intended to evoke the color of a dragonfly's wings. It is complemented by a specially designed and hand-applied pattern of elliptical elements. From the front to the rear, these elements change size, creating a gradient transition from blue to black.
Integrated into the mesh of these elements is the Bugatti emblem, executed in black and applied for the first time on the side of the hypercar, behind the side air intake. The company's specialists were particularly noted for their efforts in painting the wheels the same color as the body, despite the difference in materials and paint application methods.
The interior is finished in the same colors, a combination of leather and Alcantara with a three-dimensional pattern echoing the bodywork. The gear selector traditionally features a dancing elephant figurine.
The company is not naming the customer, but specifies that they already own the "insect-like" Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Hellbug, Divo Lady Bug, and Chiron Hellbee.
