A unique Bugatti Chiron hypercar as a gift for a 70-year-old American woman (26 photos)
Bugatti has unveiled the latest work from its Sur Mesure personalization division, the Chiron Super Sport 57 One of One. The one-of-a-kind coupe was built by order of a certain American, as a gift to his 70-year-old wife. The modern car was styled after the classic Type 57 SC Atlantic, which she fell in love with 20 years earlier. 
The owner of a unique Bugatti once visited an automobile museum in the United States, where she saw in person a Type 57 SC Atlantic from the 1930s: this model by Jean Bugatti was built in only four copies, and only three of them have survived to this day. Two decades later, her husband, who is also a fan and long-time Bugatti customer, unexpectedly invited her to the brand's headquarters in Molsem to personalize her personal car. The project was supported by the leading designer of Sur Mesure, Yasha Straub.
The original Chiron Super Sport, which itself is already one of the rarest derivatives of the base Chiron, received a light blue body shade close to the historical one, an exclusive chrome version of the signature horseshoe-shaped radiator grille, and chrome wheels. A schematic image of “Atlantic” is applied to the lower part of the retractable wing. The same image is used in the design of the door cards and the center console.
The headrests depict Rembrandt Bugatti's "Dancing Elephant" - Ettore's brother - whose image has already been used in the design of a number of special models, including one of the "legendary" versions of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse roadster and the modern W16 Mistral.
The entire planned production run of all Chiron derivatives, including the newest Mistral and Bolide, has long been sold out on pre-orders. The French brand, now part of the united company Bugatti Rimac, promised to show a fundamentally new supercar in the spring of 2024. According to preliminary data, this will be a very powerful hybrid - the first in the history of the brand.
