Cadillac has unveiled the Lyriq-V super crossover. The use of the powertrain from the larger Vistiq has provided the new model with record-breaking acceleration figures for the brand. Orders are now open at prices starting at $79,990.
The Lyriq-V's two electric motors produce 624 hp — 114 hp more than the most powerful regular Lyriq. Compared to the Vistiq, the new model is more than one and a half hundred kilograms lighter, and can therefore reach 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds. The maximum speed of the crossover has not yet been disclosed, but the company mentions several modes of operation of the power electronics, including a track mode, and a launch control function.
The engines are assisted by the same 102-kilowatt battery, with which the Lyriq-V will travel up to 460 km without recharging. Replenishing the energy reserve for 121 km will provide 10 minutes of connection to a powerful DC station. Charging to 80% will take about 40 minutes.
The chassis uses recalibrated shock absorbers, ground clearance is reduced, and the standard brakes are replaced by Brembo mechanisms. Special 22-inch wheels and an engine sound synthesizer tuned with an eye on the Cadillac Le Mans race cars are provided.
Among the exterior differences is a slightly more developed aerodynamic body kit with various overlays, a spoiler and a diffuser, as well as a black roof that is included in the standard package. The interior will feature seats with extended adjustment ranges and a sportier finish, a different steering wheel, and the media system will get original graphics.
The Lyriq-V will be assembled at the Cadillac plant in Tennessee, USA, with production starting in early 2025. The electric car will go on sale not only in the United States, but will eventually reach Canada, Australia and some other markets.
