The new generation Mazda6 will be electric (22 photos)
At the Beijing Motor Show, Mazda presented the new EZ-6 liftback, which was developed by the Japanese together with the Chinese partners of the world, the Changan company. The new product is based on the Deepal sub-brand model existing since 2022 with the SL03 index. 
Body dimensions are 4921×1890×1485 mm, that is, in comparison with the current Mazda6, the successor spread out literally in all directions. You can also note retractable door handles, illuminated decorative grill and large 19-inch wheels.
The five-seater cabin, upholstered in beige Alcantara and covered with a transparent roof, is dominated by a huge “floating” center console, which simultaneously acts as an armrest with cup holders. Above the dashboard rises a 14.6-inch tablet with a fast Qualcomm SA8155 Snapdragon processor, which manages not only multimedia, but also the climate control system, seat settings and other functions. Standard equipment includes ambient lighting and Sony acoustics with 14 speakers. In addition, you can count on adaptive cruise control that allows you to let go of the steering wheel, auto parking, a panoramic image system with 3D, a “transparent” hood, etc.
There is little official information about the technical content of the Mazda EZ-6. It is known that the electric version will have rear-wheel drive and will travel about 600 kilometers without recharging, while the hybrid version has a total range of up to 1,000 kilometers. It is logical to assume that the car will get its power plants, albeit with some modifications, from the SL03, that is, we are talking about a 218- or 258-horsepower electric motor and a combination of a 218-horsepower electric motor with a 1.5-liter gasoline unit acting as a generator.
The Mazda EZ-6 will go on sale in China in the very near future, and given that in March 2024 the Japanese company registered the trademarks “Mazda 6e” and “6e” with the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), then in the future it will be quite possible we can expect deliveries of EZ-6, but with a more familiar name, also to the Old World.
