Heavy-duty SUV Mengshi M-Hero converted into a buggy (6 photos)
The Dongfeng concern has published the first images of an extreme new product. It is called M Hunter and, apparently, is based on the units of the Mengshi M-Hero SUV. The buggy's premiere is scheduled for the Beijing Auto Show, which opens on April 25.
As far as can be judged from the photo, the Mengshi M-Hero chassis was modified as part of the project - the M Hunter looks shorter and taller than the donor. In addition, the buggy rests on original wheels. The suspension travel was also increased - the developers emphasized the new chassis components with red accents.
The SUV body is covered with carbon panels, equipped with power bumpers, a winch and modernized lighting equipment. The passenger compartment is protected by a tubular frame, and lattice gates are used instead of doors. You can see that there are two bucket seats installed in the buggy's interior.
Instead of a trunk, the M Hunter received something like a cargo platform, on which two spare wheels are mounted at once. A similar solution is used on pickup trucks and SUVs prepared for long rally raids.
No technical specifications have been announced yet. The standard Mengshi M-Hero is sold in China with either a 1,088-horsepower all-electric powertrain or an 816-horsepower hybrid. According to one version, the management of the sub-brand will evaluate the public's reaction to the prototype at the Beijing Motor Show and may decide to launch small-scale production of M Hero for the wealthiest customers.
