An angry pizza delivery girl bit off her customer's thumb (4 photos)
An amazing story took place in the British city of Aldershot (Hampshire). A woman working as a delivery driver bit off his thumb in the heat of an argument with a client. Why didn't they share?
It turns out that this was the case.
On that day (it was in December 2022), 35-year-old Jennifer Rocha was delivering orders at the request of her friend and using his Deliveroo account, that is, she was working as a substitute.

36-year-old Stephen Jenkinson ordered pizza. He received a notification that the delivery vehicle had arrived, but had stopped quite far from his home. He ran there to quickly pick up his food - and, to his misfortune, he forgot his phone at home.
Jennifer Rocha asked him to show her the order code. After his explanation about the forgotten phone, she refused to give him the food. Apparently, they began to argue, the debate grew, and the woman grabbed his finger with her teeth. So much so that she bit it off.

“All I remember,” says Stephen, “is shaking her helmet, trying to get it off. And then it felt like a chainsaw was going through my finger.”
The bottom line consequences of what happened are:
The man was left without a finger and, as a result, lost his job. He has financial problems, a lot of debts, including from paying hospital bills.
The investigation into the case has reached its final stage. A trial is due to take place in early May, at which the woman with a steely grip on her teeth will be sentenced.
Deliveroo immediately denied any involvement in the incident, closing the account of the driver Rocha was replacing and stating that its drivers are individual entrepreneurs. Self-employed, in general.
“I’m financially bankrupt now,” the victim says. - I am unemployed. I have a huge amount of debt and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. I will have to live with the consequences of what happened for the rest of my life.”
Jenkinson's lawyer says Deliveroo should be held accountable for what happened: "Companies operating in the gig economy must be held accountable for the actions of the people they rely on for their significant profits."
