The details of the unsuccessful landing of a private helicopter in the Kuzbass on February 20 became known. There were six people on board the Eurocopter AC 350 - a pilot, a guide and four snowboarders. When landing at an altitude of 1090 meters in the area of Mount Topkhan, the helicopter crashed to the ground. The cause of the accident is said to be a system failure.
As a result of a hard landing, the 36-year-old guide of the group Alexander Krasnov died. He reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The 62-year-old pilot Alexander Kuklin was also seriously injured. He was diagnosed with a closed craniocerebral injury, concussion, concomitant trauma, pneumothorax and a closed fracture of the collarbone. The rest of the passengers were not injured.
It is known that two groups of amateur athletes flew to the area of Mount Topkhan. The first helicopter landed successfully. However, after the incident, all passengers of the crashed helicopter were taken to Mezhdurechensk. It is reported that the snowboarders planned to ride off the ski slopes, where they were supposed to be delivered by helicopters, and then picked up.
