New Volkswagen Electric SUV Priced at $20,000 in China (7 Photos)
The FAW-Volkswagen joint venture has opened pre-orders in China for the ID. Aura T6 electric crossover. Available exclusively with front-wheel drive, the new model comes in four trim levels, with prices starting at 135,900 yuan (around $20,000). 
The Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 measures 4,811 mm long, 1,879 mm wide, and 1,648 mm tall, with a 2,836 mm wheelbase. It offers a choice of 19- or 20-inch wheels. Exterior highlights include a closed-off front grille, full-width LED light bars at both the front and rear, and a dynamic silhouette featuring prominent rear pillars and a roof spoiler.
At launch, the Aura T6 is offered with a single motor producing 231 hp. However, buyers can choose between two battery options: 59.9 kWh and 77.5 kWh. The entry-level model gets the smaller pack, delivering a range of up to 540 km on a single charge, while the three higher-tier trims feature the larger battery for up to 660 km of range.
Inside, the EV features a triple-screen infotainment setup consisting of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, and a 25.8-inch head-up display. Comfort and entertainment options include an available 18-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system and massaging seats. Notably, the driver-assist suite includes a smart parking system capable of autonomously searching for available spaces in multi-story garages.
