Goats Fainting

Myotonic goats, or as they are often called fainting goats, freeze and "fall off the hooves" when surprised or frightened.
When stressed, these animals suddenly fall to the side. They become paralyzed, unable to move for 10-15 seconds.
This condition is caused by a recessive genetic disorder called myotonia. Myotonia is associated with a delay in muscle relaxation after an involuntary movement.
