The dog faints every time he sees ducks (4 photos + 2 videos)
An emotional dog named Peter can't contain his excitement. So much so that when he sees, for example, a flock of ducks, he immediately loses control over his body and faints. This state is somewhat akin to fainting goats that fall into a stupor when frightened.
According to the owners of the cocker spaniel, fainting does not harm Peter's health, but leads to his temporary immobilization, and as a result, a fall. This condition is known as myotonia congenita, and is observed in goats - they go into a stupor when frightened. Less commonly, myotonia occurs in dogs and people.
Peter experiences myotonia when he gets overly excited about something, such as a flock of ducks he encounters on a walk. During "fainting" the animal's muscles are paralyzed for approximately 3 seconds, and some animals may continue to move with significant difficulty during the process.
Peter now lives happily with his owners in Sheffield, England. Besides his "faints", he is an adorable dog and a beloved pet.
