This homeless, fur-covered dog was picked up on the street, and no one could identify its breed (9 photos)
No one knows for sure what life was once like for this poor guy named Sang Su before he was picked up homeless on a Chicago street, but one thing was immediately clear: he hadn't been in love for very long. -a long time ago.
A thick layer of matted, dirty fur, which turned into one large mat from head to tail, only confirmed the long-term lack of care and attention on the part of man.
The dog was in such terrible condition that its overgrown hair made it almost shapeless, so much so that it was impossible to even understand what breed it was. Realizing that this would require a lot of experience and the attention of specialists, the people who found him turned to the animal protection organization Trio Animal Foundation for help.
The folks at the nonprofit specialize in helping pets who have suffered severe neglect from their owners, but even they couldn't have foreseen the dog's terrible condition.
Due to the huge amount of fur soaked in urine that covered San-Soo's entire body, it was difficult to stand next to him because the stench burned his nose and throat. But the dog's rescuers were not going to retreat and give up. Four members of the medical team spent 2 hours straight cutting the matted hair off the dog. In total, more than 3 pounds (1.36 kg) of wool were shaved from her.
Sue Naiden, president of the Trio Animal Foundation, assumed that San-Soo belonged to the Shih Tzu, Poodle or Lhasa Apso breed, but only now it became clear which one was in front of them. In the end, Sang-Soo showed people his true appearance: an adorable cocker spaniel appeared before them.
“It was only when he came out of the office after this many-hour procedure that I saw that he was a cocker spaniel,” she said. “I have been rescuing dogs for about 20 years, and this is the first time I have been mistaken about the breed of a dog under such matted fur.” .
Once the sedatives wore off, Sang-Soo was finally able to see himself in the mirror, move without restrictions and without pain, stretch his legs and run for the first time in a long time. But there was something else that the dog lacked: human love and affection.
Even though he was still wary of people after the trauma he had experienced, it was clear that deep down he clearly craved human contact. And, according to animal rights activists, this desire for love will help him regain his ability to start trusting people again.
A lot of things have improved in his life, but he is not yet completely healthy: he has an infection in his ears that will require a lot of treatment, and he is also undergoing special therapy sessions with other dogs to improve his social skills. So far everything is going well for him.
Seeing how much a dog can change when it experiences love and care from people, you clearly understand that cases like this dog’s are worth all the effort and expense. When Sang-Soo fully recovers, a new home and loving owners will be found for him. And his story and transformation are truly amazing!
