Former Olympian Found in Possession of Dozens of Rare Sportbikes (4 photos)

Authorities have confiscated a motorcycle collection from a Canadian athlete who became an international drug dealer.





Snowboarder Ryan Wedding, who represented Canada in the giant slalom at the 2002 Olympics, quietly became a drug lord nicknamed El Jefe. And not in his home country, but in Mexico, where his gang handled large quantities of cocaine, smuggling it from Colombia to the United States and eliminating those who tried to interfere with their well-oiled business.



As a result, the Canadian ended up on the FBI's list of ten most wanted criminals, and law enforcement got their hands on his hard-earned assets. Among other things, in November 2025, FBI agents confiscated Wedding's roadster in Los Angeles—a 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR valued at $13 million, one of only six in existence. In December, they also seized his motorcycle collection, estimated to be worth $40 million.





According to Motorsport magazine, the motorcycles in the photographs released by the authorities include unique MotoGP prototypes ridden by Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, Loris Capirossi, and Andrea Iannone, as well as Marc Márquez's two-wheeled machine, which won the Moto2 title in 2012, and Rossi's 125cc Aprilia, which brought him the championship title.



What awaits the motorcycle collection next is an open question. It will likely be sold at auction. Wedding himself remains a wanted man.
