There are still a few days left until the end of the online auction, but the bids have already exceeded $278,000.
The Bring a Trailer auction is currently bidding on a remarkable Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC, one of the last two-door variants in this body style, released in 1990. The rarity is in perfect condition. The fact is that the construction of a restomod based on it was completed relatively recently. The coupe is already valued at $275,000, although there are four days left before the end of the auction.
The car's redesign began in 2021 and was completed only in 2024. An original body kit was created for the coupe in the style of the hot models of the early 1990s with new bumpers and wheel arch extensions, and all the parts are made of carbon. The two-door was repainted in Smoke Silver and equipped with relatively modern lighting equipment. Custom 17-inch composite wheels were used, and a modified suspension and powerful brakes are also reported.
The interior is equipped with Recaro seats and an advanced audio system based on McIntosh and Focal components, the interior is trimmed with beige leather and wood.
Under the hood of the restomod is a 6.2-liter V8 from AMG, the power of which is not named. What's especially noteworthy is that the engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. In addition, the coupe is equipped with an alternative exhaust system.
