During its eight years on air (2011 to 2019), Game of Thrones went from a popular fantasy series to a global cultural phenomenon. The show broke all ratings records and garnered dozens of prestigious awards, becoming one of the most influential dramas of its time. The series made its actors not only internationally recognizable but also extremely wealthy. Many of them joined the show as talented newcomers or little-known actors and left it as true international stars with impressive fortunes. It's time to find out which of them found not only fame but also wealth comparable to the treasures of the Seven Kingdoms after their time in Westeros.
10-9 Places Sean Bean and Sophie Turner — $10 million
Sean Bean was world-famous and wealthy long before Game of Thrones, thanks to his roles in projects such as Patriot Games (1992), GoldenEye (1995), and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
A newcomer at the start of the show, Sophie Turner played Ned Stark's daughter, Sansa. Her character underwent one of the most captivating transformations, evolving from an innocent simpleton into the poised and formidable Queen in the North. She was estimated to earn $210,000 per episode during the final season.
After Game of Thrones, Turner continued to develop her career with roles in the X-Men franchise as Jean Grey, the HBO drama The Staircase, and the thriller Survive. Behind the scenes, she appeared in prestigious advertising campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Wella, and St-Germain.
8th place. Lena Headey — $12 million
After building an impressive career with roles in films such as The Brothers Grimm (2005), 300 (2006), and Judge Dredd (2012), as well as starring in the Fox series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Lena Headey gained worldwide fame as the cold, calculating, and devilishly ruthless Cersei Lannister.
Like many who followed, she earned $1.1 million per episode for the show's final two seasons. Since Game of Thrones, Headey has continued to work actively in film and television. Outside of acting, she is an international ambassador for the charity Haircuts4Homeless and runs her own production company.
7th place. Kit Harington - $14 million
Kit Harington rose to international fame for his role as Jon Snow, the noble warrior of the Night's Watch who reluctantly became a leader. His perpetually brooding performance helped him become a key figure on Game of Thrones, and by the final seasons, he was also earning $1.1 million per episode.
Since his debut in Game of Thrones, Harington has appeared in film and television projects, including Marvel's The Eternals (2021), the series Modern Love, the miniseries Gunpowder, and several notable theater productions. Off-screen, he became the face of a Dolce & Gabbana fragrance campaign and married his co-star Rose Leslie, whose net worth is estimated at $4 million (not quite in the top 20, but still no joke).
6th-5th place. Jonathan Pryce and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau — $16 million
One of the most experienced actors on Game of Thrones, Jonathan Pryce enjoyed a distinguished career long before joining the cast as the pious but power-hungry High Sparrow. His credits include award-winning stage roles in Hamlet and Miss Saigon, as well as outstanding performances in the films Brazil (1985), Evita (1996), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and the Pirates of the Caribbean series. After Game of Thrones, the actor had a critically acclaimed role as Prince Philip in the Netflix series The Crown.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau rose to fame in his native Denmark in the 1990s, and made his Hollywood debut in 2001 in Black Hawk Down. He appeared in several American projects before landing the role of the arrogant and charismatic Jaime Lannister.
He also earned $1.1 million per episode in the final two seasons. After the show ended, he starred in several films, produced projects through his company, Ill Kippers, and hosted a documentary series on climate change. Behind the scenes, the Danish actor is a global spokesperson for L'Oréal Men Expert and a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
4th place. Emilia Clarke — $20 million
Emilia Clarke rose to international prominence as the fiery Daenerys Targaryen and became one of the highest-paid stars of Game of Thrones, earning a whopping $100,000 per episode for the final two seasons. Outside of Westeros, she starred in Terminator Genisys (2015), Me Before You (2016), and Last Christmas (2019), and joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion.
After surviving two brain hemorrhages, Clarke co-founded the brain injury charity SameYou in 2019 and was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2024 for her charitable work. In terms of advertising contracts, she is the first global brand ambassador for Clinique and has collaborated with luxury brands including Dolce & Gabbana and Chaumet.
3rd place. Pedro Pascal - $22 million
Before becoming famous, Pedro Pascal struggled financially, living off royalties from a small role in the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." His breakthrough came in 2014 with "Game of Thrones," where he played the passionate and vengeful Oberyn Martell.
Pascal then cemented his star status with critically acclaimed roles in the series Narcos, The Mandalorian, and The Last of Us. He reportedly earned $600,000 per episode for the latter two projects. He is now in high demand in Hollywood and has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Reed Richards in 2025's Fantastic Four: First Steps. The role earned him an estimated $10 million. Behind the scenes, Pascal has secured lucrative endorsement deals with brands such as Apple, Corona Extra, Casillero del Diablo, and Loewe.
2nd place. Peter Dinklage — $25 million
Peter Dinklage received worldwide recognition for his portrayal of the witty and morally complex Tyrion Lannister, winning four Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, and numerous other accolades for his performance.
After Game of Thrones, Dinklage starred in films such as Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), Wicked (2024), and The Rooftop Robber (2025). He has also voiced characters in major animated hits such as The Croods: A New Age (2020) and Transformers: Rise of the Beastbots (2023). Dinklage also owns his own production company and has appeared in commercials for Doritos, Liquid Death, and even the Andalusia tourism board in Spain.
1st place. Jason Momoa - $40 million
As Khal Drogo, leader of the Dothraki, Jason Momoa roared his way through the first season of Game of Thrones. His salary at the time was relatively modest, and he has spoken about struggling to pay rent after his character was killed off. But times have changed.
Since then, Momoa has become one of the most sought-after and highest-paid action stars in Hollywood. He reportedly earned $3 million for 2018's Aquaman and a whopping $15 million for the 2023 sequel, as well as $12 million for this year's Minecraft: The Movie. Momoa, who heads his own production company, also has lucrative endorsement deals with Chime, Guinness, and Harley-Davidson.
