In the US, cyclists encountered a puma on the road

Two US residents were cycling through Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park in Lake Forest when they saw a cougar. The animal emerged from the bushes and walked toward the cyclists.

The men were mountain biking when they saw the cougar hiding in the bushes. They managed to capture it on video.

The footage shows the animal descending a trail and walking toward the cyclists. They slowly retreated, hiding behind their bikes, and tried unsuccessfully to scare the cougar off with their screams. The cougar continued to pursue them, then abruptly darted into the bushes and disappeared.

Wildlife photographer Mark Girardeau speculated that the cyclists had encountered a young animal. "It probably recently left its mother and just doesn't know what to do. Maybe it was curious about these people," he added.
