Verónica Castro was born on October 19, 1952, in Mexico City, Mexico, to a poor family with many children. She was the eldest child, so after her parents' divorce, she had to help her mother with everything. Her peers teased her for her weight, but Verónica was strong.
She first joined a sports team, then enrolled in the school theater. From a young age, she knew she would become an actress. In 1964, young Verónica became the Queen of Spring.
Political rallies of various parties were held in the Castro family's neighborhood, where Veronica met deputy Luis Bartilloti. Thanks to him, she was able to study theater. While studying, she worked part-time on the set of photo novellas. Her striking appearance earned her a spot on the TV show "Ha-Ha," and she worked as a radio announcer, hosted television programs, recorded songs, and even modeled.
Veronica Castro began her modeling career as a teenager, then appeared in various television films. Fame came to her in her twenties, when she released a successful album (1973's "Veronica Castro") and several hit singles. Working with good producers quickly bore fruit – by the late 1970s, Castro was a highly sought-after singer. Her acting career was a bit more challenging, but as it turned out, she simply had to wait for the right role.
In 1970, she made her film debut. With the release of the television series "The Rich Also Cry" (1979), Veronica became famous. Her role as Marianna brought her global success. The series "The Rich Also Cry" was the second foreign series broadcast in the USSR (after "Slave Izaura"), and it caused a sensation in the early 1990s. It premiered on Soviet television in 1991. A trial screening of the first episodes ran for several days, after which the broadcast was interrupted. Channel management believed the series would fail, but viewers responded with massive requests for its return. The actress who played the lead role—the poor orphan Marianna Villarreal, who endured numerous trials at the hands of fate and her cruel relatives—was also remembered, so much so that another series featuring her, "Wild Rose," became popular with viewers. "Wild Rose" is another soap opera, running for nearly 200 episodes, which premiered in 1987. It's worth noting that the actress took full advantage of this fame – she recorded new songs and albums (her discography includes over thirty studio albums), performed in the theater, and hosted various television shows.
Over the course of her film career, which totals over a quarter century, she has starred in numerous television series, including: "Birthright," "The Face of Love," "Yolanda Lujan," "The Rich Also Cry," "Happiness, Where Are You?", "Forbidden Love," "Wild Rose," "My Little Soledad," "Valentina," "Little Village - Hell," and others.
In addition to television series, Castro has also starred in feature films and released several music discs. Since the 1990s, Veronica has hosted various variety shows and also performed in theater.
The actress is single. She has two sons: renowned Latin American singer and composer Christian Castro (born 1974) and Michel Castro (born 1981).
In October 2019, Veronica Castro announced her retirement from film. However, she returned to the screen in 2022, playing one of the leading roles in the fantasy romantic comedy "When I'm Young." She also continues to appear in various television projects.
It's so simple, but so sweet!
And since China has a cult following for academic achievement and titles, sometimes an adult student from a very prestigious university is invited. One recorded case: in southern China, a 26-year-old graduate student rolled around on the bed at his older sister's wedding. The bride explained that she was doing this to wish her future children the same academic success as their uncle. Creative, nothing to say!
