A man got stuck in an elevator and spent four days in it without food and water (2 photos)

In Osnabrück (Lower Saxony), a man of about 75 years old was locked in the elevator of his own home and spent four days there without food or water. The incident occurred in July, but the police only reported it now.





According to BILD, not only the elevator itself stopped working due to an electrical fault, but also the emergency call button. The man did not have a phone, so he could not contact his loved ones. In desperation, he tried to tear out the panels of the cabin, but he was unable to get out on his own.

He was only saved after his son, worried that his father was not responding, called the police. The officers who arrived heard a weak voice coming from the shaft. The victim was severely dehydrated and was taken to hospital.

At the end of August, having already recovered, the man invited his rescuers for coffee and told them that he had “never been friends with the police, but at that moment he was glad to hear a police officer’s voice.”
