A man saved a dog from a fire and lost almost half his skin (3 photos)

A resident of San Antonio, USA, rescued a dog from a fire and was taken to hospital with severe burns.





According to the man, he himself caused the fire. He was repairing a motorcycle in the house and did not notice how gasoline spilled from it onto the carpet. The carpet caught fire, and the fire quickly spread across the floor. As the man recalls, at that moment there were only he and his dog in the house. Upon seeing the flames, he immediately rushed to look for his pet. The man managed to save the dog, but he received burns on almost half of his body.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene found the man lying on the ground in front of the house. He was rushed to the hospital. Doctors determined that the man had lost about 40 percent of his healthy skin. "I feel terrible because my mistake has left my family homeless," the victim admitted.



The man explained that his family now has to live in a motel, but it is too expensive. He does not know what to do now, since he cannot work: it is difficult for him to move, and he needs to change his bandages every day. He has opened a fundraiser for new housing.
