Loving owners will go to great lengths for the sake of their pets. A Los Angeles man jumped into a river to save his beloved dog - and made headlines. As a result, the owner himself had to be rescued.
The incident comes as California was hit by powerful winds and heavy rains earlier this week, leaving more than a million people in the state without power. It also led to numerous reports of flooding and hundreds of landslides. The Los Angeles Fire Department received a call: Local residents reported that a man had jumped into a raging river in an attempt to save his dog. Rescuers immediately went to help.
The dog managed to swim safely to the shore and get out of the water without the help of its owner, but he had a hard time. The man could not get out of the fast-moving waters, and a helicopter was sent to rescue him. The man was then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The dog is doing well, "happy to be alive and eager to be reunited with its owner," the Los Angeles Police Department said.
