The Internet recalled a study by Asian scientists dedicated to mosquitoes. They played one of Skrillex's tracks to the bloodsuckers, and the insects' activity sharply decreased. During forced listening, the mosquitoes lost orientation and could not coordinate for mating and joint attacks.
The scientists played Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites to the mosquitoes, which is why the insects:
- took longer to start attacking;
- approached people less often to feed;
- bit less;
- mated less often.
Dubstep, due to its high volume, constant tone changes, and extremely low and high frequencies, simply "knocks down" the mosquitoes' sensory signals.
