A coyote attempted to drag a 6-year-old boy away from a softball game in Southern California. Enoch Palomar was attending his sister's game when the attack occurred.
The boy said the coyote chased him and bit him when he tried to run away.
"He was biting me and I was trying to kick him. He was really fast and he jumped on me. I was trying as hard as I could and I couldn't get it to go, so I started screaming."
Melissa Palomar heard her son screaming and rushed to help.
"I was like, 'Get up! Get up!'" Melissa Palomar recalls. "I was hysterical."
The people scared the coyote away, and the boy was taken to the hospital. The predator bit him on the back of the head and legs. As a result, the victim received 20 stitches and a rabies shot.
Enoch admitted: "The only things I don't like in the hospital are the shots and the things they put in my nose."

In recent years, coyotes have begun to appear in urban areas, where they hunt small dogs. According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the coyote population in the state is between 250,000 and 750,000 individuals.
"There are a lot of coyotes here," Melissa Palomar admitted. "I've seen them on the street, I've driven past them in my car, but I didn't think they'd be this close. They're not afraid of people anymore, since they're showing up at the stadium and attacking. It shocks me."
