During a wedding photo shoot, the groom jumped into the river to save a drowning boy (3 photos)
Newlyweds Clayton and Brittany Cook were taking photos on a park bridge in Ontario, Canada, when suddenly the groom saw a little boy being pushed into the river. The man immediately jumped into the water and dragged the child to the shore before emerging himself in an expensive suit soaked through.
“His face was under the water and he was flopping around as hard as he could,” the man later said. “Luckily he was just a little guy and I just lifted him up.”
Darren Hutt, who took the pictures, said:
“While I was taking single photos of the bride, another child behind me pushed this boy into the river.”
“By the time the bride noticed and started screaming, Clayton had already jumped down and brought him to safety.”
“His quick actions saved the boy who was struggling to swim. Well done, sir!
The bride at first thought that her groom jumped into the river as a joke, but quickly understood his intentions:
“What Clayton has done is similar to what he does for me,” she said. “It’s something he just instinctively does.”
