Australian scientists from the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales have introduced "paraborgs"—cyborg cockroaches equipped with cameras and electronics. The insects can be controlled remotely. The development is intended for rescue operations, such as during building collapses or in caves that rescuers cannot quickly reach.
