The boy was also in the car, but he managed to get out on his own and call for help.
12-year-old Dwight and his 16-year-old sister, Bree-Ayesha, were also in the car when their mother, Jonquetta Winbush, had a seizure. The children were able to get out of the car on their own, after which Bree-Ayesha told her brother to get help.
The boy managed to flag down passing police officers. “She’s having a seizure! She’s stuck in the car! She’s in the water, help her!” Dwight told a police officer named Charles Cobb.
The man and several concerned passersby rushed into the pond, broke the glass of the car, which was almost completely submerged, and pulled out Jonketta. The woman was unconscious, she had no pulse and was not breathing. She was able to come to only after the police officer performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The incident occurred on July 24, but the details have only become known now. Immediately after the rescue, Jonketta was taken to the hospital. For a long time, the woman needed a ventilator, but now she is breathing on her own.
