Rescuers pulled a 10-year-old boy out of a chimney (5 photos)
The boy climbed out of a second-floor window and onto the roof of his home in Whitman, Massachusetts, US, around 4:15 pm last Wednesday. The child climbed into the chimney and was no longer able to get out on his own.
The tomboy's father was at work when his second son called him and said that his brother had climbed onto the roof.
The man immediately called the rescue service and hurried home. By the time he arrived, the boy was already safe.
Photos from the scene published by Boston25 News show firefighters pulling the boy from the chimney. It can be seen that the child's hands are clamped in the pipe.
The boy was not injured, firefighters said. He never explained what prompted him to such an adventure.
