The Extreme Version of the Xiaomi YU7 Crossover Has Been Tested (3 photos)
The company itself has not yet announced its plans to release a charged electric car. s
Xiaomi has taken an extreme modification of its recent new product, the YU7 electric crossover, to road tests in China. CarNewsChina has published a photo of the prototype with a link to local social networks. Presumably, the super-powerful YU7 will receive the same engine combination as the serial SU7 Ultra super sedan.
The Xiaomi YU7 captured in the photo is wrapped in camouflage, although the official premiere of this model has already taken place and prices have been announced. In addition, the prototype features enlarged wheel arches and a widened track and is equipped with 21-inch wheels with carbon-ceramic brakes. Other noticeable external changes also include tinted rear lights.
The publication considers these modifications to be signs of an extreme modification, which, most likely, by analogy with the sedan, will be called YU7 Ultra. The most powerful four-door Xiaomi is currently equipped with three electric motors developing 1,548 hp (1,770 Nm), and a 93.7-kilowatt battery from CATL. Such a power plant allowed the sedan to become the fastest serial electric car on the Nürburgring. It is possible that if the YU7 Ultra is actually released, they will try to make it the fastest Nordschleife crossover.
The Xiaomi company is currently moving in several directions at once. In addition to developing the YU7 Ultra, the company is testing a third model - a large hybrid crossover with the supposed name YU9 and is actively expanding production capacity, which will reduce the queues for the YU7 - they have already stretched for more than a year.
