Xiaomi SU7 turned out to be the record holder for the number of complaints among electric car users in China (4 photos)
As in the US, there are consumer satisfaction ratings in the Chinese car market, and according to the results of the first quarter of this year, the Xiaomi SU7 electric car was at the bottom of this criterion, the production volumes of which the company of the same name has been increasing at a rapid pace for over a year.
Until now, SU7 electric cars have flashed in the news mainly in the statistics of Xiaomi itself, which regularly reported on the advancement of the production volume increase schedule and new sales records. However, the China Automobile Quality Network rating published on the CarNewsChina resource shows that among the most popular models on the Chinese market in the first quarter, the Xiaomi SU7 was the one that caused the most complaints about product quality.
The rating included various full-size electric sedans, and the Xiaomi SU7 turned out to be the most problematic of them from the point of view of end consumers, having scored 239 penalty points. This indicator indicates not only a high risk of defects in the product, but also a high proportion of consumer complaints in relation to the number of electric vehicles sold. In total, 29 large electric sedans of Chinese brands were included in the rating, the Xiaomi SU7 was in last place, and the most problem-free was the GAC Hyptec GT with 149 penalty points. Voyah Passion took second place with 152 points, Avatr 12 came in third with 153 points. Apparently, the frequency of mentions of problems with cars also affects the model's position in the rating, since the fairly common and popular BYD Han was at the beginning of the third ten with 194 penalty points.
In any case, even the presence of claims did not prevent Xiaomi from selling 104,454 SU7 sedans from January to April of this year. Chinese consumers who want to buy a car still have to wait in line for several months, which is an anomaly in the highly competitive local market, indicating that customers' interest in Xiaomi electric cars remains strong.
