We might have just found the absolute cutest and most stunning species in the feline family. Meet caracals—or, more accurately, caracal kittens. In Ancient Egypt, these magnificent creatures held sacred significance; their likenesses appear in paintings and bronze sculptures that were believed to guard the tombs of the pharaohs. 
Caracals are native to Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent. Adults weigh around 18 kg and can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h. They are relatively easy to tame and are sometimes kept as pets, although this is illegal in many countries.
